Cut video online without losing quality

To cut a video online, drop it into the editor below, drag the orange handles around the part you want, and export.

  • No upload
  • No watermark
  • MP4 · MOV · M4V

Drop a video here

MP4, MOV or M4V. It opens on your device and is never uploaded.

QuickClip copies the original frames instead of re-encoding them, so quality stays the same. Your video is never uploaded: it is cut right here in your browser, free and without a watermark.

How to cut a video in three steps

  1. Step 1

    Open your video

Drop a file on the editor or choose one. It opens on your device straight away, even a 4K video from your phone.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the part to keep

Drag the two handles, type exact times, or press I and O while it plays. The start moves to a keyframe so no frame is changed.

  3. Step 3

    Export and download

You get a new MP4 with the same picture and sound. Nothing is re-encoded, so export is about as fast as copying the file.

Why the quality stays the same

Many video cutters decode your video and encode it again when you cut. Every re-encode loses detail, and it can make the file bigger. QuickClip skips that step: it copies the frames you keep, byte for byte, into a new MP4.

Copying needs no decoder, so it is also much faster than encoding.

Why your start point can move a little

A video is stored in groups of frames, and each group begins with a keyframe. A cut without re-encoding has to start on one.

So QuickClip moves your start to the next keyframe, shows the dropped part striped, and tells you by how much. Phone videos usually have a keyframe every second or two.

Keyframes every 2 s. A start at 0:07.3 moves to 0:08.0, and the striped 0.7 s is not kept.

Your video never leaves your device

Many online cutters upload your file to their servers first. QuickClip does all the work inside your browser, so there is no upload to wait for and no copy of your video anywhere else.

How local processing works

Made for the videos on your phone

  • iPhone and Android

MP4, MOV and M4V with H.264 or HEVC video, portrait or landscape. The result is always an MP4.

  • No size limit

The file is read in small pieces, so long and 4K videos open as quickly as short ones.

  • No upload to wait for

Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is re-encoded, so a cut starts the moment you press Export.

  • Precise times

Type a start and end, step one second with the arrow keys, or jump straight to the next keyframe.

  • Private by design

No account and no upload. The only thing sent is an anonymous count, such as which tool was used.

  • Free, no watermark

No signup and no ads. Works in current Chrome, Edge and Safari, and in Firefox on a computer.

Questions

Is my video uploaded?

No. The file opens in your browser and is cut on your device. QuickClip has no server that receives video. Only anonymous counts are sent, such as which tool was used, never the file or its name.

Does cutting a video lower its quality?

Not here. QuickClip copies the original video and audio data byte for byte. Nothing is re-encoded, so picture, bitrate and frame rate stay exactly as they were.

How do I cut the start or end off a video?

Open the video above, drag the left handle to where it should start and the right handle to where it should end, then export. Everything outside the handles is removed.

Can I cut a video on my iPhone or Android phone?

Yes. Open this page in Safari on an iPhone or Chrome on Android, choose a video from your gallery, and save the result to your files.

Which formats work?

MP4, MOV and M4V with H.264 or HEVC video and AAC audio. The result is always an MP4.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. The file is read in small pieces, so long and 4K videos work. Your browser needs free space about the size of the result.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no signup, no watermark and no ads.
